Job DetailsJob Location: Rothbury, MI 49452Position Type: Full TimeJob Summary The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and development of the overall operation of the housekeeping department. This position is responsible for maintaining the highest standard of cleanliness in all public areas, guest room accommodations and the resort back of house areas.  The Housekeeping Manager will train, motivate, and keep their direct reports working at high levels of efficiency for results that are beneficial for the Resort. This position will work in accordance with federal, state, and local standards and guidelines along with assuring the highest degree of quality guest care is maintained at all times.   Tasks and Responsibilities: Manage the daily activities of the housekeeping department to include appropriate cleaning of all concourses, bathrooms, restaurants, suites, back of house areas and all public spaces. Planning, organizing, and directing team members to ensure the highest degree of efficiency and guest satisfaction. Daily supervision of the housekeeping staff, including the day, event, and post-event crews. Purchase, re-order and maintain housekeeping supplies and inventory utilizing correct purchasing processes and procedures. Conduct inspections of all rooms, concourses, and public areas Recruit, schedule and train all new housekeeping staff members. Maintain the housekeeping budget, providing labor summaries, guest supply expenses summaries and cleaning supply expense summaries. Uphold the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and professional conduct. Knowledge and demonstration of OSHA and safety standards within housekeeping department. Determines and maintains the department work schedule in a timely and effective manner. Ensures the proper care and maintenance of all equipment; makes arrangements for repair and/or replacement of used and damaged equipment. QualificationsRequired Knowledge/Skills/Job Qualifications: Knowledge, Skill and Ability Previous experience of at least 4 years managing a team of housekeeping employees through motivation, coaching, accountability, and development. The ability to anticipate customer needs, change goals and direction quickly and multitask. Working knowledge of rooms property management systems. Advanced knowledge of housekeeping process and procedures. Proven experience supervising housekeeping departments of 15+ employees. Ability to maintain a budget. Proven excellence in customer service. Capable of using independent judgment/solid decision-making skills Proven experience interacting effectively with all levels of management, guests, and associates in a professional way. Demonstrates ability to be self-motivated to accomplish goals, with a strong sense of responsibility. Proficiency with general office PC applications (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, databases). Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven job reliability, diligence, dedication, and attention to detail. Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, and holidays.       Education and Formal Training: High school diploma or GED required.   Experience: A minimum 5 year’s experience in all aspects of Housekeeping in a large, multi-use facility required, with at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
