Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Grounds Lead is responsible for maintaining the appearance and upkeep of Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma properties. This is a working lead position that provides direction and oversight to a grounds maintenance crew while ensuring assigned properties are maintained to established standards. You will report to a Grounds Supervisor or Manager.

 

Primary Tasks:

  1. Lead and support a grounds maintenance crew to ensure work is completed efficiently, meets established quality standards, and reflects pride in workmanship.

  2. Provide guidance and on-the-job training to ensure team members understand assigned tasks and properly operate equipment.

  3. Assist with inventory control, including monitoring, maintaining, and organizing grounds equipment and supplies.

  4. Recommend improvements to enhance grounds maintenance programs, processes, and overall property appearance.

  5. Coordinate and deliver supplies and equipment to assigned facilities as needed.

  6. Promote and enforce adherence to safety policies and safe work practices.

  7. Support performance management activities, including providing input on performance reviews and addressing performance concerns.

  8. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

 

Required Education, Skills and Experience: 

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Read and follow written or oral directions for tasks
  • Understand government public health regulations, as needed
  • Understand and follow safety standards related to performance of the job
  • Experience in lawn equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Three [3] years of commercial groundskeeping or landscape experience
