Impact Electronic Solutions - Grants Pass Location (ESAM) - Position Description

Summary of Position:

The First Article Technician will be responsible for building and validating cable and harness assemblies in accordance with AS9100 Rev D standards and customer-supplied documentation. The role involves conducting first article prototype development, ensuring compliance with quality requirements, and working closely with engineering and production teams to achieve optimal results.

Duties:

  1. Be a self-starter and work with little supervision.
  2. Review customer supplied prototype specifications.
  3. Generate the assembly instructions for prototype assemblies.
  4. Build cable and harness assemblies per customer-supplied documentation and engineering drawings.
  5. Identify and document any discrepancies or issues during the assembly and processes.
  6. Collaborate with quality assurance and engineering teams to resolve any issues.
  7. Perform special assignments and other duties as required.

Requirements:

  1. Able to distinguish colors.
  2. Able to read small print.
  3. Able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications.
  4. Have excellent manual dexterity.
  5. Stand or sit for eight (8) or more hours per day.
  6. Computer literate.
  7. Must be able to work overtime and weekends.

Schedule:

  • Monday- Friday 5:00am-1:30pm
  • OT is required, as needed. OT Hours: Mon-Thursday 2 hours immediately following shift, and Sat.

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Assembly Experience: 3 years (Preferred)
  • Mechanical Knowledge: 3 years (Preferred)
