Description

 Schedule: Full-Time | 4-Day Work Week (Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts)
On-Call/Call-Outs as needed 


Position Summary:

The City of Grants is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our Utilities/Public Works team as a Laborer in the Pipes Division. This position supports the installation, repair, and maintenance of water and sewer systems throughout the City. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with installation and repair of water and sewer lines 
  • Maintain pump stations, pipelines, and surrounding areas 
  • Perform general labor including digging, lifting, and equipment operation 
  • Respond to emergency call-outs as needed 
  • Support customer service-related work orders

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Valid New Mexico Driver’s License (or ability to obtain) 
  • Construction, maintenance, or related experience preferred 
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in all weather conditions 

Requirements:

  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check 
  • Must be available for emergency call-outs, evenings, and weekends as needed 
  • Must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy materials (100+ lbs with assistance)
