Job DetailsJob Location: Grapevine Medical Lodge - GRAPEVINE, TX 76051Job Shift: DayThe Laundry Aide is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing residents' personal clothing and facility linens in accordance with facility policies, state regulations, and infection control standards. The Laundry Aide helps ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents while maintaining confidentiality and treating all residents with dignity and respect. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Collect soiled linens and resident clothing from designated areas. Sort laundry according to fabric type, color, and washing requirements. Operate commercial washers, dryers, and other laundry equipment safely and efficiently. Wash, dry, fold, hang, and distribute clean laundry and linens. Label and identify residents' personal clothing as required. Deliver clean linens and clothing to resident rooms and nursing units. Maintain accurate inventory of linens and laundry supplies. Inspect linens and clothing for damage and report items needing repair or replacement. Keep laundry areas clean, organized, and free of hazards. Follow all infection control, sanitation, and safety procedures. Handle and dispose of contaminated laundry according to facility policies and applicable regulations. Maintain confidentiality of resident information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Assist with housekeeping duties as assigned. Attend required in-service training and staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by the Laundry Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor, or Administrator. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Experience Previous laundry, housekeeping, or healthcare experience preferred. Experience in a long-term care facility is a plus. Skills and Abilities Ability to operate commercial laundry equipment safely. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds. Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions. Ability to work in a warm environment around laundry equipment. Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and laundry products. Working Conditions Long-term care and skilled nursing facility environment. Exposure to laundry chemicals, heat, moisture, and soiled linens. May be required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
