About the Role

The Paralegal will assist the Manager, VMO / Senior Paralegal Financial Services and KCC General Counsel and the Legal Department with respect to vendor onboarding and oversight, financial services compliance, financial services litigation management, Treasure/corporate finance, corporate governance and related functions.

 

What You’ll Do 
This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures and guidelines: 

  • Support the Manager VMO on contract terms.
  • Create, update, and maintain new contracts, NDAs, work orders from internal stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of contracts and VMO processes and maintaining related databases.
  • Support legal compliance projects, legislative tracking and advice to clients.
  • Support litigation management for matters affecting financial services affiliates, including interaction with clients and outside counsel.  This includes handling subpoenas and adversarial matters.
  • Work with outside legal counsel support ensuring timely completion of projects and ensuring that invoice is completed properly.
  • Support Treasury corporate finance transactions.
  • Support finance affiliates corporate governance, including annual reports and license renewals.
  • Coordinate KCC Policies and Procedures, including process and substantive review.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
  • Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 0-3 years of related experience with a degree.
  • 3-5 years or related experience required in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.

Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, to permit the employee to function in a general office environment and accomplish tasks and duties as outlined above.
