BASIC PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION

 

The Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer plays a key role in identifying, analyzing, reporting, and resolving product defects and quality issues in Kubota machines. This position is responsible for coordinating quality reporting activities, leveraging market data, and collaborating with manufacturing and engineering teams to implement effective solutions. The Senior QA Engineer will oversee rework, recall, inspection, and parts validation activities. This role requires occasional travel to customer and dealer locations to assess failures, determine repair processes, identify root causes, and report findings to the QA department.

 

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company’s policies, procedures, and guidelines:

 

  • Monitor warranty and field failure reports to detect product issues and analyze trends using data analytics.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve identified product defects, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
  • Record non-conformances in the quality management system.
  • Maintain ownership of inspection and audit checklists for assigned product segments.
  • Develop and present monthly webinars to update field teams on issue status.
  • Manage agendas for all collaboration meetings related to assigned product segments.
  • Follow safety protocols at R&D and testing facilities.
  • Support and adhere to quality assurance processes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Responsible for leading Quality Systems and Process Improvement projects (such as KPI development, QA system enhancements, or NPI machine quality monitoring).

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in technical field, Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing engineering preferred:
    • With a degree at least 5 years experience required.
    • In lieu of a degree at least 7-10 years experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Hands-on technical aptitude and experience.
  • Familiarity with problem identification and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency in operating Kubota and competitive equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Broad experience in the technical service industry.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in using common machine tools, measurement gauges and diagnostic software.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and hydraulic diagrams and CAD drawings.
  • Proven background in supplier qualification, PPAP, and inspection; experience with Lean principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This person must be physically able to perform any repair on Kubota equipment and tractors
