Overview
An Electrician 2 is responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical and safety systems in oil and gas production environments.
Responsibilities
- Run cable tray and install cablesÂ
- Install cable glands and work with transit systemsÂ
- Install conduit and sealsÂ
- Terminate power and control wiring under supervisionÂ
- Utilize multi-meter for electrical diagnosticsÂ
- Complete all required paperwork as defined by managementÂ
- Work alongside technicians, fitters, and helpers to install and repair safety systemsÂ
- Read and interpret schematicsÂ
- Requisition materials and coordinate with clientsÂ
- Prepare proper JSAs for assigned tasksÂ
- Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipmentÂ
- Coordinate crew changes with the project managerÂ
- Work at heights with fall protection gear and from ladders or scaffoldingÂ
- Handle small toolboxes or tool belts while installing and repairing equipmentÂ
- Use hand tools such as wrenches, pliers, socket sets, drills, and cutting devicesÂ
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or EquivalentÂ
- 3+ years of electrical experience preferredÂ
- Working knowledge of oil and gas production operations preferred (training available)Â
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently without direct supervisionÂ
- Physical requirements: Must be able to lift 40 lbs., climb ladders and stairs, and perform bending and stoopingÂ
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, including the use of a respiratorÂ
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarmsÂ
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving recordÂ
