Preventative Maintenance Technician
Summary:
As a Leasing Technician, your primary responsibility will be Preventative Maintenance.
This position is responsible for performing most maintenance and repairs,
including lube, oil, and filter changes, as well as balancing and rotating tires and flushing
cooling systems with minimal supervision. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of
our leasing department by handling all preventive maintenance tasks and other necessary repairs.
The ideal candidate will possess the skills required to maintain the efficiency and reliability of
our fleet and is distinguished by the reduced level of supervision needed to complete tasks. This
role requires a solid foundation of mechanical knowledge and a strong willingness to learn from
more experienced colleagues. As a Class C Technician, understanding teamwork and fostering an
environment for learning is crucial to progress to the next steps in your career.
Essential Duties:
• Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with
factory standards
• Conducts all Preventative Maintenance and DOT inspections to ensure compliance with safety
regulations and optimal vehicle performance
• Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts
• Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer
• Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or
recommended
• Communicate with the service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined
is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time
• Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order
• Installs optional equipment as specified by the customer or dealer
• Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor
• Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals
• Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner
• Reports any safety issues immediately to management
• Attends and completes all training as required by the company
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• 2+ years related experience and/ or training, or equivalent combination of education and
experience
• Must have a valid Driver License
• Must own the majority of all basic tools and have a workable toolbox
Work Environment:
The work in the service department involves working in an environment with exposure to moving
parts, electrical currents, grease, chemicals, dust, dirt, and various weather elements. Candidates
must be able to navigate the workspace efficiently and handle physical tasks that require lifting
up to 30 pounds for extended periods. Safety protocols are essential to mitigate risks associated
with these exposures. This role demands physical stamina and a keen awareness of surroundings to
ensure both personal and team safety.
This position requires the employee to frequently stand, stoop, bend, and work in a crouched
position or lying on back on mechanic's dolly beneath motor vehicles. Employee is required to reach
and work overhead approximately 40% of the time and should able to lift up to 50 pounds.
This position involves frequent travel for meetings/trainings at various locations. While having a
CDL license is advantageous for roles within our Dealership and Leasing Operations, it is not a
mandatory requirement. We adhere to DOT regulations to ensure everyone remains compliant and can
utilize a CDL license if available. Depending on your role, you may still be required to operate a
heavy-duty truck within property restrictions.
