Why is this Respiratory Therapist role different
This role blends clinical interaction, patient education, and teamwork within a small, easy‑going, long‑tenured branch. You’ll enjoy autonomy, strong collaboration, and meaningful patient relationships.
Key highlights
Work Arrangement: On-site; 80% office, 20% patient visits.
Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; flexible.
Travel: Covers 2hrs one way from the branch.
Salary range
$30 per hour.
OnCall transparency
Monthly on-call rotation; supports patient needs and occasional telehealth.
What you’ll do
Conduct home visits to perform oxygen, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilation equipment setups and follow‑ups
Educate patients and caregivers on equipment use, cleaning, troubleshooting, and maintenance
Assess patient needs, document care delivered, and escalate concerns appropriately
Respond to hospital discharge requests and support patient needs
Collaborating with physicians, case managers, and internal branch teams
Maintain accurate documentation using iPad/laptop
Set up and operate various types of respiratory care equipment, including, but not limited to, oxygen therapy, nebulization therapy, apnea monitoring, suctioning, PAP, invasive and non-invasive ventilation
Inspects and tests equipment to ensure proper operating condition
Perform clinical assessments and tests such as pulse oximetry, ETCO2, spirometry and gathering vital signs
Performs other duties as required
What we look for
Respiratory Therapist with an active MI RT license
Ability to stand, lift, push and/or pull objects ranging from 10 – 50 lbs.
Valid driver's license
Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation tools, and digital documentation
Education
Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
Certificates, licenses, registrations or professional designations
Hold a current RCP license in the state of practice (or states that the location covers) if that state requires an RCP license to allow the practice of respiratory therapy
Hold a current CPR Certification
Hold all applicable licensure in good standing for all states of practice
