SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:
The Quality Control Technician (QCT) is responsible for product quality, safety and legality. They do this by following established procedures, taking action to correct problems, and maintaining quality assurance documentation. The QCT is responsible for identifying quality deficiencies and taking action to correct them. The QCT reports to the Quality Control Manager daily. This position acts as a liaison with other divisions and works effectively and cooperatively with the other QCT(s). This position shares responsibility for maintaining Pasta Montana’s food safety, quality and legality program under the Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS) guidelines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform quality control inspections, testing, and analyses to ensure products and ingredients meet company specifications, food safety requirements, and regulatory standards, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP), and Brand Reputation Compliance Global Standards (BRCGS) requirements.Â
- Conduct in-process quality inspections and line checks, monitor critical control points including metal detection, weight checks, date printing, tailing inspection, and stop production or place products on hold when quality, safety, or legal requirements are not met.Â
- Maintain accurate quality records, reports, certifications, and computerized documentation to support regulatory compliance and product traceability for HACCP, BRCGS, and GMP programs.
- Investigate quality issues, assist with product disposition decisions, and participate in corrective and preventive actions to resolve nonconformances.Â
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.Â
- Communicate effectively with production, management, customers, and cross-functional teams to support quality objectives and resolve quality concerns.Â
- Assist other Quality Control Technicians, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and attend required meetings and training.Â
- Â Perform other duties as assigned in support of Quality Assurance operations.
 QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Education: Two years post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
Minimum Experience: One-years’ experience in food processing plant or food handling.Â
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of the quality and analytical methods of pasta production, ingredients and raw materials is helpful. Some understanding of pasta production theory, knowledge of food safety requirements, GMPs, HACCP, and BRCGS. Superior decision-making and problem-solving abilities. Able to identify quality deficiencies and assist in correcting them. Able to function as a motivated team member in a highly dynamic environment. Able to work and communicate effectively in a team setting. Able to learn, troubleshoot and multi-task. Proficient written, oral and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to work independently, plan, organize and prioritize responsibilities.Â
Other Qualifications: Efficient in the use of computer automated systems and software, including word-processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Office programs; filing experience.Â
