Physiatrist Opportunity – Primarily Outpatient with Occasional Inpatient Rehab Coverage 

Join a Leading, CARF-Accredited Rehabilitation Program with Excellent Support  

We are seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Physiatrist to join our dynamic and collegial Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation team in a well-established, financially stable, and independent health system. This is a primarily outpatient role with occasional inpatient rehabilitation cross-coverage.Enjoy a supportive, collegial environment with the ability to tailor your career toward your interests. Outpatient PM&R Clinic Highlights: 

  • Flexible clinic hours with a dedicated outpatient clinical staff for patient follow-up and care coordination 

  • Strong referral base with 330+ providers within the health system and additional referrals statewide 

  • Opportunity to pursue clinical interests including: 

  • TBI, Stroke, Spasticity Management, Amputee Care, Migraine/Headache 

  • Botox (spasticity, dystonia, migraines), Baclofen Intrathecal Pump Evaluations and Refills 

  • Joint Injections (shoulder, hip, knee, ankle) 

  • EMGs 

  • Subacute, MSK, medical-legal, and other specialty areas 

  • Onsite access to physical, occupational, and speech therapy including therapy garden, home training, and recreational outings 

  • Interdisciplinary Team Conferences held three times per week across different shifts to include all staff 

 

Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (Occasional Cross-Coverage Only): 

  • 20-bed CARF-accredited acute rehab unit (accredited >40 years – top 5 in the nation for longevity) 

  • Common diagnoses include: Stroke, TBI, SCI, orthopedic injuries, LE amputation, cardiac/pulmonary DEB, Guillain-Barré, and complex medical conditions 

  • Average census: 12 patients 

  • Daily admissions/discharges: 2–3 each (Monday–Friday) 

  • Call burden: Rare  weekend call, limited to potential admissions when covering 

  • Medical coverage provided Monday–Sunday by dedicated NP hospitalists ( alternating every 7 days) 

  • Robust multidisciplinary rehab staffing, including a fellowship-trained brain injury physiatrist/medical director, 1 additional physiatrist, rehab APP, 16 therapists, and 24/7 nursing (including critical care trained RN) 

EMG Program: 

  • 3 EMG machines (plus one in rehab unit) 

  • ~24 outpatient EMGs/week with excellent show-up rates and room to expand 

  • Dedicated neuro techs handle setup, documentation, and troubleshooting 

  • Providers perform their own nerve conduction studies; certified tech support available upon request 

  • Diagnoses include radiculopathy, compression neuropathies, myopathy, motor neuron disease, and more
