Electrical Technician
Great Neck, NY | Onsite | U.S. Citizen

Wild West Systems is a defense technology startup redefining autonomous edge defense through modular, AI‑powered weapon systems - designed, built, and launched in the USA.

We're looking for a hands‑on Electrical Technician to help build the electrical backbone of our drone and munitions platforms. This is an execution role - you'll solder, crimp, wire, and test hardware that actually ships. Precision matters. Speed matters more.

This is not an engineering role; it's a skilled technician position where craftsmanship, consistency, and accountability run the show.

What You'll Do

  • Assemble, solder, and inspect PCBs, including SMT components.
  • Build and verify wiring harnesses and connector assemblies.
  • Crimp terminals, insert pins, and route wires to engineering specs.
  • Perform continuity testing and document inspection results.
  • Support engineers in rapid prototyping and iteration cycles.
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow build procedures.
  • Troubleshoot electrical assemblies and assist in root‑cause analysis.

What You Bring

  • Proven hands‑on experience as an electrical or electromechanical technician.
  • Strong soldering skills, including surface‑mount (SMD/SMT) work.
  • Proficiency in custom harness assembly, crimping, and inspection testing.
  • Ability to read and work from schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • IPC certification (IPC‑A‑610, IPC/WHMA‑A‑620, or equivalent).
  • Consistent execution and pride in high‑quality builds.

Bonus Points

  • Background in defense, drone, UAV, or aerospace manufacturing.
  • Prototype or low‑volume production experience.
  • Familiarity with low‑voltage harness work.
  • Additional IPC or J‑STD certifications.

Work Location

Onsite in Great Neck, New York.
In‑person work required.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and high‑impact, mission‑driven work.
  • Health Insurance: 100% coverage for employees, 90% for spouse/family.
  • Vision & Dental: 100% coverage.
  • 401(k) plan with company participation.

General Qualifications (All Roles)

  • Love for America and commitment to Wild West Systems' mission.
  • Self‑starter with a bias for action and extreme ownership.
  • Servant‑leader mindset; adaptable to fast, shifting priorities.
  • ITAR Requirement: U.S. citizenship or ITAR‑compliant status.
