SHABACH! Ministries, Inc. (SMI) is a faith-based nonprofit organization committed to developing dynamic communities through education, engagement, and empowerment. This community arm and non-profit 501(c)3 corporation of First Baptist Church of Glenarden, is developing dynamic communities by “educating, engaging and empowering.” SMI serves individuals and families through impactful programs designed to strengthen communities and transform lives.
POSITION SUMMARY
The President serves as the chief executive leader of SHABACH! Ministries, Inc., responsible for advancing the organization’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. This role provides oversight of daily operations, program development, financial management, and staff leadership, while working in close partnership with the Board of Directors.
The President will also serve as a key external representative of SMI, building strong relationships with community stakeholders, funders, and government entities to expand the organization’s reach and impact.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Leadership
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all SMI programs and operationsÂ
- Ensure alignment with the organization’s mission, vision, and faith-based valuesÂ
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate program leaders and administrative staffÂ
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and servant leadershipÂ
Strategic Planning & Program Development
- Develop and execute strategic plans in collaboration with the Board of DirectorsÂ
- Identify opportunities to expand and enhance programs through grants and partnershipsÂ
- Oversee the development of proposals and funding initiatives to support growthÂ
Financial Oversight
- Manage and oversee a multi-million-dollar budgetÂ
- Ensure strong financial stewardship, reporting, and complianceÂ
- Partner with finance leadership to maintain fiscal integrity and sustainabilityÂ
Governance & Board Relations
- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of DirectorsÂ
- Provide regular updates on organizational performance, programs, and financesÂ
- Support the Board in strategic decision-making and long-term planningÂ
Community & External Relations
- Serve as the public spokesperson for SMIÂ
- Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, government agencies, and partner organizationsÂ
- Represent SMI at events, meetings, and public forumsÂ
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all programs comply with contractual, licensing, and regulatory requirementsÂ
- Develop and implement quality assurance processes across all program areasÂ
DISCIPLESHIP & FAITH COMMITMENT
- Demonstrate a strong, personal commitment to Jesus Christ and Christian discipleshipÂ
- Integrate Biblical principles into leadership, decision-making, and workplace cultureÂ
- Support and model the spiritual mission of SMIÂ
- Maintain active participation in a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching churchÂ
QUALIFICATIONS
Â
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree requiredÂ
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience, preferably in a nonprofit or human services environmentÂ
- Master’s degree in business, public administration, human services, or a related field preferredÂ
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proven executive leadership and strategic planning experienceÂ
- Strong financial management and budget oversight skillsÂ
- Exceptional communication and presentation skillsÂ
- Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams and build strong relationshipsÂ
- Experience with fundraising, grants, and community partnerships preferredÂ
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general technology toolsÂ

- Must be comfortable working in a church-affiliated environmentÂ
