What We’re Looking For

We’re searching for someone who:

  • Communicates professionally and compassionately with clients

  • Is comfortable grooming both cats and dogs of all sizes
  • Provides patient, gentle care for anxious or challenging pets
  • Can confidently bathe, trim, shave, style, and maintain pet hygiene according to owner preferences
  • Can communicate grooming concerns, skin issues, or recommendations to pet owners and our veterinary team

Qualifications

  • Professional grooming certification/training and/or independent grooming experience required
  • Please note: training will not be provided for this role

POSITION SUMMARY:


The Pet Groomer provide the highest standards of excellence to perform various grooming
duties necessary to improve pets’ hygiene and enhance their physical appearance

WHAT YOU’LL DO (Essential Functions):


• Foster a culture built on our values: Respect, Learning, Do the Right Thing, WOW Service,

• Consult with pet owners to discuss their pet’s needs and desired style
• Wash, comb, brush and blow dry animal’s fur, removing mats and tangles as needed
• Cut and shape animal’s coat according to determined pattern, using electric clippers,
comb, and barber's shears
• Groom and style pet according to owner’s instructions, standard grooming styles,
proportions of the animal, and breed standards
• Clip nails, clean ears, and brush teeth
• Express anal glands manually as needed
• Promote skin and coat health through recommendations for regular grooming and
beneficial add-on services, treatments, and retail products
• Identify health issues in pets such as ear infections, skin conditions, wounds, and/or tooth
decay. Notify pet owner of any signs of injury or illness
• Update and maintain all records to capture services performed, products recommended,
and any illness or injuries detected
• Routinely clean and sanitize grooming tools, equipment, and all salon work areas
• Ensure the safety, security, and well-being of each pet during the grooming process
• Maintain knowledge and awareness of new trends and experiments with new grooming
techniques
• Support a practice environment that promotes collaboration and teamwork and ensures
the delivery of quality, compassionate, effective, and efficient care to animals
• Comply with all practice policies, quality assurance guidelines, minimum standards of care,
and safe handling procedures


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (Essential Qualifications):


Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required
Professional Licenses/Certifications:
• Graduate of certified grooming program preferred

Experience:
• Six months of professional pet grooming experience required
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
• Solid understanding of animal breeds, characteristics, and behavior
• Knowledge of pet grooming techniques and styles
• Ability to manually express anal glands
• Strong verbal and active listening communication skills with a customer-oriented approach
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Compassion and empathy for both pets and the pet owners
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Organizational and time management skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear.
The team member may frequently use a computer for periods of time. Specific vision
abilities are required to do this job including close vision. This position requires walking and/or
standing for long periods of time, bending, reaching, grasping, and repetitive motions. Must be
able to lift up to 30 lbs. unassisted, 50 lbs. with assistance. Working environment may be stressful
with aggressive, frightened, abused or injured animals that may bite or scratch.
