Job Description

Position Title: Cook

Reports To: Lead Cook/Sous Chef/Executive Sous Chef聽

Below are the Core Responsibilities that make up the priority functions and most important responsibilities of this position. These Core Responsibilities are divided into two categories, Job Function and Professionalism and Style Expectations.聽

Following the Core Responsibilities is a Physical Requirements category that is also expected of all positions within StepStone Hospitality, Inc.

Each responsibility of this position is assigned a weight that indicates the percentage of the overall job it represents. For performance appraisal purposes, the Core Responsibilities (what the job is; the substance of the job) account for 90% of the overall appraisal score. The other 10% is based on the Professionalism and Style category (how the individual goes about doing the job).

1. Administration

路 Maintain health and sanitation 聽聽standards.

路 Maintain soap and sanitation buckets 聽聽at each station at all times

路 Cover label and date all food 聽聽products

路 Open kitchen and Close kitchen in 聽聽absence of supervisors

路 Adhere to all prepared written 聽聽recipes for all menu items.

路 Report out of stock items to the 聽聽supervisor

路 Prepare all sauces and all dishes 聽聽for breakfast, dinner menus.

路 Help set-up restaurant and employee 聽聽cafeteria buffet.

路 Prepare all menu and featured items 聽聽under the Executive Chef鈥檚 direction.

路 Supervise and assist dishwashers and 聽聽pantry personnel.

路 Perform the duties of the Prep List 聽聽schedule.

路 Maintain health and sanitation 聽聽standards.

路 Prepare all dressings and cold 聽聽sauces.

路 Maintain adequate supply of 聽聽desserts.

路 Prepare all salads.

路 Prepare all salads for buffet and 聽聽employee cafeteria.

路 Assist with banquet preparation.

路 Must have a knowledge of the English 聽聽language to effectively communicate with guests, associates, and vendors.

Physical Requirements

5. These are required of every associate.路 Minimum lifting of 50 pounds.路 Pushing, bending, stooping, upward 聽聽reaching, manual dexterity.路 Hearing, reading, writing.路 Minimum pulling of 50 pounds.路 Other duties may be assigned. Additional responsibilities specific to you 聽聽are:路 Must have a comprehensive knowledge 聽聽of all hotel departments and functions.路 Must have a knowledge of applicable 聽聽Federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.路 High school education and relevant 聽聽training and experience preferred.路 CPR training and first aid training 聽聽preferred.路 Additional language ability 聽聽preferred.Requirements are representative of minimum levels of knowledge, skills and/or abilities. To perform this job successfully, the incumbent will possess the abilities or aptitudes to perform each duty proficiently.
