Requirements
  • Active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in the state of Wisconsin.
  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Prior experience in correctional, clinical, or community mental health settings preferred.
  • Strong crisis intervention and risk-assessment skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a secure correctional environment.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments, screenings, and diagnostic evaluations for inmates.
  • Provide individual and group counseling using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans.
  • Respond to mental health crises, conduct suicide risk assessments, and provide crisis stabilization.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including medical, security, and psychiatric staff.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with WI DOC standards.
  • Participate in case discussions, treatment meetings, and mental health program development.
  • Provide education on coping strategies, behavior management, and rehabilitation.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality regulations, and facility safety protocols.
