A Brief Overview

The Logistics Supervisor will supervise the work of a team of logistics leads, coordinators and/or drivers. In this role, customer satisfaction is a priority as it is critical to the success of the business. This position is responsible for overseeing and coordinating freight and supply logistics, shipping routes, and delivery to maximize efficiency and ensure customer satisfaction. This person will respond immediately to customer questions and complaints and notify them of any delays in the delivery schedule is essential to this position.

What you will do
  • Oversee daily delivery operations including dispatch routes, print manifests, pre-call customers, load driver assignments, schedule transfers, and coordinate outside trucks, trailers, or transportation services as needed.
  • Support drivers and maintain compliance by conducting fleet management activities, scheduling delivery changes, DOT-related administrative tasks, and monitoring driver files.
  • Manage documentation and administrative processes including scanning documents, maintaining invoice records and filing systems, posting corrections, administering all phases of time-clock management, and printing/distributing work picks and consolidated work picks.
  • Monitor performance and drive improvement through tracking metrics and errors, evaluating workflows, and identifying opportunities to optimize and streamline logistics and production processes.
  • Deliver exceptional communication and service by collaborating with sales, drivers, and customers on delivery issues; and provide excellent customer service.
  • Print and distribute work picks and consolidated work picks.
  • Responsible for supervising a team of 10+ associates (direct and indirect reports), with responsibility for budgeting, goal setting, and performance management, including providing feedback and input on hiring and terminations.

Education Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent education and experience required.

Experience Qualifications
  • 4-6 years of industry experience / freight handling required.

Skills and Abilities
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with customers, other employees and supervisors using verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and recognize potential problems.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills.
  • Knowledge of supply management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency with or ability to learn current technologies (e.g. Smartphone, GPS and other necessary business applications.)
  • Excellent teamwork & customer relationships.
  • Demonstrate leadership by mentoring and training associates, engaging with Safety Committee, and participating in US1 Continuous Improvement Projects.
