Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Sub-Assembly Technician to join our manufacturing/shipping team. This role is responsible for the accurate assembly of components and sub-systems used in final product builds. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and metal fabrication processes. A keen awareness of how the final product is expected to perform in the field is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble mechanical sub-components according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Inspect and test parts to ensure proper function and quality before integration into the final assembly.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to resolve issues or discrepancies in assembly processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of assembly steps and identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Safely operate a variety of tools and equipment used in sub-assembly tasks.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols and quality standards.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and sub-assembly techniques.
  • Working knowledge of metal fabrication practices and tools.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
  • A clear understanding of how the product is expected to perform in the field and how sub-assembly contributes to that performance.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical assembly or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial assembly environment.
  • Limited but functional knowledge of diesel engine components and air system operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, up to [70] lbs. regularly.
  • Standing, bending, and working with hands for extended periods.
