KBR is seeking qualified Pressure Vessel Systems Engineers to join our OMES III contract supporting environmental testing operations. This role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with NASA and ASME standards and supporting system owners/operators throughout the lifecycle of these systems.

Position Summary

The contractor will provide technical and administrative support for pressure vessels, pressurized systems (PVS), and purge operations, as applicable. This role involves certification and oversight of ground-based PVS, ensuring compliance with NASA and ASME standards, and supporting system owners/operators throughout the lifecycle of these systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review design documents for new, modified, or existing ground-based PVS to ensure compliance with NASA and ASME standards.
  • Provide review comments to owners/operators and the Pressure Systems Manager.
  • Certify and oversee ground-based pressure vessel systems.
  • Support system owners/operators throughout the lifecycle of PVS.
  • Ensure adherence to NASA-STD-8719.17 and ASME B31.3 Section VIII safety standards.
  • Apply non-destructive examination techniques and meet certification requirements.
  • Develop and implement maintenance, testing, and repair schedules for PVS.
  • Maintain accurate inventory, reporting, and discrepancy tracking for PVS.
  • Prepare safety plans and documentation for certification and compliance.
  • Hold and maintain technical certifications required for PVS operations.

Required Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience with pressure vessels, pressurized systems, and related safety standards (NASA-STD-8719.17, ASME B31.3 Section VIII).
  • Familiarity with non-destructive examination techniques and certification requirements (SNT-TC-1A Level 2).
  • Ability to review engineering documents and provide technical feedback.
  • Experience in developing and implementing maintenance, testing, and repair schedules.
  • Strong organizational skills for inventory, reporting, and discrepancy tracking.
  • Ability to develop safety plans and documentation for certification and compliance.

Basic Compensation:

Jobs on this contract range from $142,300 - $251,700.  Pay range is specific to the Greenbelt, MD area.

The offered rate will be based on the position, contract affordability, the selected candidate’s working location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

 Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
