Apply now for the position of Head of Strategic Deployment. You will lead enterprise-wide initiatives to drive operational excellence, strategic program governance, and continuous improvement across Varian. This role is pivotal in embedding disciplined execution frameworks, scaling HPS methodology, and fostering leadership adoption of Agile Action Plans (AAP) to achieve measurable improvements in productivity, cycle time, and cost efficiency. You will report to the Head of Strategy, collaborating closely to align your initiatives with the organization’s overarching strategic goals.
Your role:
- You will serve as a key member of the Strategy team, facilitating strategic program design, tracking, risk identification, and escalation for key transformational initiatives.
- You will establish and lead a high-performing team to drive enterprise-wide strategic deployment, including employee development and capability building.
- You will engage and align key stakeholders across functions and business lines, ensuring collaboration, transparency, and shared ownership of strategic enterprise initiatives.
- You will support enterprise transformation programs, translating strategy into measurable outcomes and ensuring delivery of breakthrough initiatives.
- You will lead change management processes in concert with enterprise strategic initiatives to ensure successful adoption and sustainability.
- You will manage the execution and monitoring of the Varian Strategic Plan, including ownership of the strategic planning cycle, development and management of the Varian Scorecard.
- You will define and manage enterprise KPIs and dashboards, and monitor and report on progress and impact.
- You will collaborate closely with STMA and business leaders to lead acquisition integration/ divestiture activities for Varian.
- You will support investor relations responsibilities for the Varian Business Area, ensuring alignment and clarity in strategic communications.
- You will lead enterprise-wide governance for the Healthineers Performance System (HPS) and drive the maturity roadmap.
- You will deploy Agile Action Plan (AAP) frameworks across business lines with measurable outcomes to enhance execution discipline.
- You will govern enterprise PMO processes, ensuring cross-functional alignment and standardized execution frameworks.
- You will validate business cases to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and strategic objectives.
- You will coach leaders on operational excellence, structured problem solving, and adoption of HPS practices.
- You will drive leadership adoption of Agile Action Plans and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- You will enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and cycle time improvement across the enterprise.
Your expertise:
- You have a deep experience in PMO governance for large-scale, cross-functional strategic initiatives.
- You have the ability to design and enforce governance frameworks ensuring alignment and transparency.
- You have a strong knowledge and practical application of High-Performance System methodology.
- You have expertise in Agile Action Plans (AAP) deployment and leadership adoption.
- You have a proven track record in continuous improvement, structured problem-solving, and Lean principles.
- You have experience leading enterprise transformation programs, including risk identification and escalation.
- You are skilled in driving cultural change toward disciplined execution and accountability.
- You have the ability to standardize execution frameworks across diverse business lines.
- You have the capability to coach senior leaders on operational excellence and empower them to drive improvements.
- You have strong facilitation skills for leadership workshops and maturity roadmap development.
- You have Expertise in building execution dashboards, performance reporting, and KPI tracking.
- You have strong communication and influencing skills to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Therapy Sciences, or related field, Advanced degree, MBA or MPH preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in healthcare or MedTech, with significant exposure to oncology, therapy, imaging, or software-enabled clinical workflows.
- 7+ years of leadership experience in business excellence, operational excellence, transformation, or continuous improvement roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-wide transformation, including Lean, Six Sigma, operational redesign, or process optimization.
- Strong background in performance management, metrics, KPI frameworks, and dashboard development.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams such as R&D, Clinical, Quality, Marketing, Operations, and Service.
- Experience with digital transformation (automation, analytics, workflow optimization, or clinical software integration) is strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25%

The base pay range for this position is:
$251,410 - $345,686Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
