Description

INTRODUCTION: This position reports to the Inventory Control Supervisor. It is solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated commensurate with assigned responsibilities.


INVENTORY CONTROL SPECIALIST – Responsible for maintaining the integrity of the perpetual inventory through cycle counting and inventory maintenance. 


AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Include, but are not limited to:

a) Perform collaborative cycle counts.

b) Assist investigations and resolve inventory discrepancies via cross-functional team root cause analysis and process improvements. 

c) Efficiently and accurately enter all relevant System Inventory Transactions.

d) Work to maintain high level of associate morale and recognition.

e) Work closely with staff and supervisor to develop and document inventory control procedures. 

f) Assists in the enforcement of the 5S and LEAN housekeeping initiatives. 

g) Participates in corrective action/problem solving teams to address root cause issues for long term solutions.

h) Any additional duties that have not been specifically stated but which may be assigned, and those that are logically and properly inherent to this position.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS: 

a) One year of previous experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment. A background in automotive or heavy truck preferred.

b) Ability to obtain JOST International Fork Truck Certifications for sit down and stand up.

c) Working knowledge of inventory control procedures for shipping, receiving, and material handling or equivalent experience.

d) Demonstrated problem-solving ability, strong communication and interpersonal skills.

e) Ability to work independently; must be comfortable in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

f) Ability to bring forth continuous improvement ideas and implement where appropriate.

g) Working knowledge of MRP systems; SAP, AS400 and advanced skills Microsoft Office; Excel, Word.

h) Ability to gain knowledge of company products. Comply with quality, environmental, safety and JOST company policies and procedures.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

a) Work is generally performed in a production plant 60 % of time, 20 % in an office & 20 % in a warehouse setting.

b) While performing duties of this job, the employee will regularly; sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, twist and regularly will be required to stoop, kneel, lift or move objects of 51 pounds or less with or without assistance.
