A Machinist will be responsible for general machining of parts for material handling equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is CNC machining; other duties may include manual machining (tapping, countersink, lathe, mill), material movement, as well as general maintenance of machinery and adhering to required tolerances/dimensions for each customized part.

Job Functions:

• Key emphasis is on safe and efficient machine programming, setup, and operation
• Ensure tasks are executed in the most effective manner in regards to time, cost and function
• Show top notch craftsmanship in all aspects of job
• Open to taking direction and learning from the Production/Manufacturing leadership
• Machines include manual CNC mill & lathe (with bar feeder), manual saws, as well as other machine shop equipment
• Works from solid models and engineering drawings to produce parts
• Ability to program, set up, fixture, and operate CNC mill/lathe and other manual equipment
• Repair and maintain production equipment and facilities as required
• Produce high quality parts with low rejection rate
• Keep work space in a neat and safe organized manner
• Show mutual respect for coworkers
• Work well with other Custom Automation team members as needed
• Highly motivated self-starter
• Ability to train others in safe machine operation

Travel Requirements:

• No travel for this position

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

• Minimum education required is High School/GED/Trade School
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and develop machined parts from these specifications
• Relevant machining experience including CNC mill/lathe
• Experienced with typical machine shop tools and equipment (horizontal saw, vertical saw, deburr, grinder, drill, forklift)
• Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise
• Advanced experience with manual and CNC mill/lathe
• Ability to operate heavy duty equipment in a safe manner
• Ability to lift up to 50-75 lbs. on a repetitive basis
