Welder (3^rd Shift)

Job Overview:

A 3rd Shift Welder for Bastian Automation will be responsible for general welding/fitting producing weldments for material equipment projects. The main emphasis for this position is welding/fitting, other duties to include fabrication, assembly, and painting of projects as well as general repair and maintenance of Bastian Automation shop equipment. A Welder will be responsible for maintaining tolerances and dimensions specified by individual print. A Welder I will have 1-2 years of experience in the welding/fitting field.

Job Functions:

• With guidance ability to build high quality welded parts from blueprints with low rejection rate. **Must maintain tolerances detailed on blueprints 
• With guidance works from sketches/drawings to produce parts from sheet metal, plate, bar stock, and aluminum 
• Keep workspace in a neat and organized order 
• Show mutual respect for coworkers 
• Show up to work every day on time. Sunday to Thurs 10:30 pm to 7 am
• Maintain a positive attitude 
• Overtime required when necessary 
• Follow safety protocols per JSA (Job Safety Analysis) 

Travel Requirements:

• No travel for this position

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

• Relevant welding experience required.  MIG welding is preferred

• Positive attitude, able to handle tense situations that arise 

• Team player, able to take direction 

• General knowledge of fabrication equipment including horizontal saws, lathes, mills, & drill presses 

• Onsite weld test given prior to employment to establish skill set 

• Minimum High School or GED diploma
