Job DetailsJob Location: IN Location - Greenfield , IN 46140Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $54,000.00 - $56,000.00 Salary/yearTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayJob Title: Shipping Lead Supervisor: Sr. Operations Manager GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The Shipping Lead is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Shipping Department by coordinating shipping activities, training and supporting team members, maintaining accurate documentation, and helping ensure orders are shipped accurately and on schedule. This position serves as a key resource for the Shipping Team and assists management with workflow coordination, problem-solving, process improvement, and overall departmental efficiency. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Training & Team Support Assist with developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and training materials for the Shipping Department. Train new and existing employees on shipping procedures, processes, safety requirements, and departmental expectations. Provide guidance and support to team members and assist with resolving day-to-day questions or operational issues. Develop a strong working knowledge of all Shipping Department functions and provide coverage or assistance as needed. Promote teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Shipping & Logistics Coordination Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, carriers, and other departments to ensure shipments are scheduled and completed accurately and on time. Monitor shipping activities and identify potential delays, errors, or other issues that may affect customer orders. Communicate shipping issues to the appropriate personnel and assist in developing timely solutions. Assist with developing and implementing processes and strategies to improve shipping efficiency, productivity, and accuracy. Process Improvement Identify opportunities to improve departmental processes, workflow, and efficiency. Collaborate with management and team members to implement process improvements. Assist with evaluating and resolving operational challenges within the Shipping Department. Ensure established procedures and processes are followed consistently. MINOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review completed and historical orders to identify discrepancies, errors, or opportunities for improvement. Maintain accurate spreadsheets, reports, shipping records, and other departmental documentation. Monitor shipping and logistics performance metrics and assist management in identifying trends and areas for improvement. Assist with inventory tracking and reconciliation as needed. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Previous experience in shipping, logistics, warehousing, or a related field preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to train, coach, and support team members in a professional manner. Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and the ability to learn and utilize company software and systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
