We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assists Warehouse Manager with hiring and training of new employees.
  • Schedules and oversees warehouse staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop company employees.
  • Provide training and monitor the employees’ performance. Be accessible to all areas of the dock and yard.
  • Coach/counsel employees on performance and development and document performance-related material.
  • Plan daily manpower needs to ensure customers’ freight is delivered and picked up timely and damage-free.
  • Communicate with Linehaul/dispatch at various terminals and with dock employees to coordinate the movement of trailers and freight.
  • Develop a plan for distributing break loads to achieve goals.
  • Monitor service freight and ensure Linehaul compliance.
  • Monitor and analyze all opportunities to cut costs and improve efficiencies.
  • Assist customers with rate quotes, claim information, and setting appointments.
  • Perform administrative functions, as required.
  • Monitor actual performance data and gather information for reporting.
  • Communicate with Account Managers to ensure customers’ and company’s needs are met.
  • Ensure all OS&D is identified and processed properly.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings.
  • Implement company policy.
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Safety Procedures:

  • Ensure all employees are trained on and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Provide personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is used correctly.
  • Maintain clear and accessible emergency exits and equipment.
  • Implement and enforce proper lifting techniques and ergonomics.
  • Report and document any accidents or incidents immediately.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and drills to keep safety top of mind.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other relevant safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety where employees feel empowered to speak up about safety concerns.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • 3 plus years leading a logistics team or like experience
  • Associates Degree or similar discipline preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with data entry and inventory software and systems.
