Job Title: Plant Engineer Reports to: Director of Manufacturing Location: Greensboro, NC Overview: The Plant Engineer is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the facility by overseeing equipment performance, maintenance planning, process improvements, and capital projects. This role provides technical expertise to production and maintenance teams, ensures regulatory and safety compliance, and drives continuous improvement initiatives across the plant. Responsibilities: Plan, coordinate, and execute capital projects, including equipment upgrades, installations, and facility improvements. Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and vendor requirements. Oversee contractors and ensure work meets safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Communicate project updates and engineering recommendations to leadership. Develop and maintain equipment specifications, drawings, and technical documentation. Provide engineering support to production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues and improve reliability. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and process-related problems to minimize downtime. Partner with Maintenance leadership to optimize preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Support spare parts planning and equipment lifecycle management. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality. Evaluate and implement new technologies, tools, and methods to improve plant performance. Lead or support Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement initiatives. Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and EHS teams to support plant goals. Provide technical training and guidance to operators and maintenance personnel. Performs other duties assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering. Three to five years’ experience in manufacturing and industrial operations Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and industrial equipment. Knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability principles, and root cause analysis. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Experience in compliance, quality assurance, document control, or administrative coordination preferred.
