Job Summary:

The Yard Attendant and Boat Driver is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the boatyard and waterfront facilities, as well as operating boats for transport, towing boats 20-30 ft. long, fueling, getting boats lined up for the day, and solid customer service. This role requires physical labor, strong attention to detail, a clean driving record, experience using a forklift, and safe boating practices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Yard Attendant Duties:

  • Maintain overall cleanliness and organization of the yard, docks, and storage areas.
  • Assist with launching, hauling, blocking, and storing boats.
  • Operate forklifts, trailers, and other yard equipment as needed.
  • Perform general maintenance and minor repairs to boats, trailers, and facility equipment.
  • Pressure wash hulls and prepare boats for seasonal storage or delivery.

 

  • Boat Driver Duties:
  • Operate company or customer boats to relocate, deliver, or recover from slips, moorings, or dry storage.
  • Transport customers or staff via water taxi or shuttle boats.
  • Assist with docking and undocking boats, securing lines, and managing fenders.
  • Fuel boats and check fluid levels as needed.
  • Ensure all vessel operations comply with safety and environmental regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a marina, boatyard, or related marine environment preferred.
  • Valid boating license or certification (e.g., USCG license or state boating card).
  • Comfortable operating powerboats up to 20-30 feet in length.
  • Ability to safely use power tools, yard equipment, and forklifts
  • Strong physical stamina; ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in outdoor conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service mindset.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays as needed.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor and indoor environments, often in varying weather conditions.
  • May require early mornings, evenings, or weekend shifts depending on season.
