Job Summary:

As an Inventory Control Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of the organization’s warehouse inventory. We are looking for a highly organized and reliable Warehouse Inventory Control Assistant to help maintain accurate inventory levels, optimize warehouse processes, and ensure the efficient operation of the warehouse. This role will involve tracking incoming and outgoing inventory, conducting stock counts, managing stock locations, and assisting with order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Tracking & Accuracy:

  • Assist with daily inventory checks and ensure that inventory records are accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct regular physical counts of stock and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and system records.
  • Support inventory audits and report discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages to the Warehouse Manager.

Stock Receiving & Organization:

  • Support the receiving process by verifying product shipments against purchase orders and inspecting goods for damages.
  • Ensure proper labeling and storage of incoming products in designated warehouse locations.
  • Organize products in an efficient and easily accessible manner to optimize warehouse space.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor stock levels and ensure that inventory is replenished in a timely manner to avoid stockouts or overstocking.
  • Track inventory movements (in and out) using warehouse management software (WMS).
  • Assist with maintaining an updated inventory of tools, equipment, and materials used in the warehouse.

Order Fulfillment & Shipping Support:

  • Assist with order picking, packing, and shipping to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers.
  • Support the preparation of shipments by labeling items, creating shipping documents, and ensuring the correct items are picked for orders.
  • Work with the shipping team to prioritize and coordinate shipments based on demand and urgency.

Inventory Reporting & Documentation:

  • Assist with maintaining inventory logs and documentation in both physical and digital formats.
  • Generate and report on inventory-related metrics (e.g., stock levels, order accuracy) to management.
  • Ensure proper documentation for returns, transfers, or damaged goods.

Warehouse Maintenance & Safety:

  • Help ensure the warehouse is organized, clean, and complies with safety regulations.
  • Participate in maintaining the condition of warehouse equipment, tools, and storage systems.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment issues to management immediately.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, procurement, and other departments to ensure efficient operations.
  • Assist in resolving inventory issues and discrepancies in collaboration with other warehouse teams.
  • Provide support to the Warehouse Manager as needed in daily operations.


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or relevant coursework is a plus).
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, inventory control, or logistics role preferred.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software (NetSuite).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management tools.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and warehouse procedures.
