POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Seton Hill University invites applications for the position of Program Director/Asst. or Associate Professor, for the Doctoral program in Physical Therapy. Start date is negotiable but no later than January 1, 2027. The Physical Therapy Program sits in the College of Health Professions & Natural Sciences.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

  • Provide direct oversight for all academic and administrative matters. 
  • Lead the faculty in strategic planning and monitor the process to further the program's mission in teaching, research, service, and patient care. 
  • Supervise the process of maintaining CAPTE program accreditation. 
  • Ensure that the Physical Therapy faculty is involved with research and scholarly activity. 
  • Ensure that the Physical Therapy facility continues to meet the educational and functional needs of the faculty, students, and staff. 
  • Promotes the program and enhancing its visibility, assisting with recruiting and retaining students, and managing the day-to-day logistics of the program. The Program Director is responsible for the continuous evaluation of faculty. 
  • Teaching in area of expertise.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A license to practice physical therapy in Pennsylvania (or ability to obtain) 
  • A minimum of 6 years of full-time higher education experience with a minimum of 3 years of full-time experience in a physical therapist education program
  • An academic doctorate degree in a related field 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with obtaining and/or maintaining CAPTE accreditation 
  • Administrative experience (including program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation and budgeting) 
  • A record of scholarship and history of teaching and service 
  • Effective communication and leadership skills
