Position Overview

The Human Resources Director provides leadership and coordination for all personnel-related matters within the facility. This role is responsible for overseeing human resources operations in accordance with facility policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, and Performance Improvement (PI) standards.

The Human Resources Director serves as a key resource to leadership and staff, ensuring compliance, supporting workforce development, and promoting a positive and productive work environment. Responsibilities include oversight of staffing, employee relations, orientation and training, compensation and benefits, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all Human Resources functions within the facility.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of time and attendance for all employees.
  • Identify training and retraining needs and refer employees to appropriate resources.
  • Recommend and administer Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) when employees fail to meet organizational policies or standards.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Serve as a resource to leadership and department managers on HR-related matters.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement HR policies, practices, and procedures that support organizational growth.
  • Oversee staffing, employee relations, orientation, professional development, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement (PI) and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Utilize effective communication skills while respecting age, disability, and cultural diversity.
  • Provide assistance and support during emergency response situations, as appropriate.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources preferred

Licensure

  • None required

Experience

  • Experience as a Human Resources Manager in a hospital setting preferred; or
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Human Resources Generalist in a hospital setting
  • Working knowledge of applicable employment laws and regulations, including:
    • Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
    • Affirmative Action
    • Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
    • Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
