The Technician III will be responsible for installing, maintaining and repairing cable infrastructure in a low voltage environment. The ideal candidate will be able to meet the physical demands of the worksite while also providing excellent customer service.
Essential Function
•   Ensuring all cables are neatly tied and bundled according to code and industry standard practices
•   Running, pulling, and terminating copper.
•   Assist co-workers with installation and routine maintenance of structured cabling systems.
•   Ensuring that products are installed to industry standards, faceplates and labels neat and plumb ensuring a professional appearance
•   Maintaining project housekeeping protocols
•   Assist with keeping track of site tools and materials to avoid loss or damage
Minimum Qualifications
•   Hold and retain the OSHA-10 certificate
•   Must pass pre-employment background check and drug testÂ
•   Demonstrate ability to ask applicable questions and willingness to learn new skills.Â
•   Punctuality and consistent daily attendance.
•   BASIC HAND TOOLS OWNED BY EMPLOYEE, (DRILL, SNIPS, SCREDRIVERS, PUNCH TOOLS, TONER AND PROBE, LEVEL) Â
•   Ability to use basic hand and power tools to perform assigned job site tasks.Â
•   Understanding of safety as it relates to each division and the use of appropriate safety measures in daily tasks.Â
•   Familiarity with industry and best practices.
•   Demonstrate ability to work successfully independently and in a group setting.Â
•   Ability to install cabling according to industry standards with minimal supervision.Â
•   Ability to install cable pathways including but not limited to:Â
   o   J-HooksÂ
   o  Basket TrayÂ
   o   Ladder RackÂ
•   Ability to dress cables neatly and in-line with applicable standards.Â
•   Ability to use hand and power tools to assist in building out data closets including but not limited:Â
   o   2-Post RacksÂ
   o   Ladder RackÂ
   o   Setting CabinetsÂ
•   Ability to terminate and install standard industry copper connectors with minimal supervision/training.Â
•   4-Pair cable terminationsÂ
•   Multi-Pair cable termination  Â
•   Applicable color codesÂ
•   Coaxial terminationsÂ
•   Basic troubleshooting (Toning, Butt-set, etc.…) Â
•   Basic alert cabling terminations (speakers, horns…etc.)Â
•   Familiarity with fiber productsÂ
•   Ability to identify different fiber types (Single mode and Multimode)Â
•   Ability to identify different fiber connectors (LC, SC, ST, MPO, APC)Â
•   Some entry level manufacturer and/or industry training, examples include:Â
   o   CommScope UnipriseÂ
   o   Panduit PCTÂ
•   Basic understanding of bonding and grounding installation principles:Â
   o   Telecommunication BusbarsÂ
   o   Compression style connectorsÂ
   o   Routing and installation of bonding conductorsÂ
•   Basic understanding of firestopping principles:Â
   o   Firestop CaulkÂ
   o   Firestop PillowsÂ
   o   Firestop PuttiesÂ
•   Basic understanding of transmission principles:Â
   o   CopperÂ
   o   FiberÂ
•   Copper Testing – Setup testing equipment and save test results. Â
•   Properly read redline drawings with accuracy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•   Limited experience up to 2 years
•   Aerial lift certification
•   Fall protection certification/training

Physical Demands
This position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.

Work Environment
This role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware. Employees may be subject to frequent heavy lifting and other physical demands typical of a construction or warehouse environment.
