Job Description Summary

The AI Portfolio Manager serves as the operational leader responsible for driving execution excellence across the Wind Engineering AI transformation portfolio.

Reporting to the AI Process Transformation Leader, this role ensures AI initiatives progress efficiently from concept through deployment by establishing portfolio transparency, execution rigor, risk mitigation, stakeholder alignment, operational rhythms, and performance reporting.

The AI Portfolio Manager partners closely with AI Architects, portfolio stakeholders, Digital teams, ARC Foundry and executive stakeholders to ensure strategic priorities are translated into measurable execution and business outcomes.

Job Description

1. Drive Execution Across the Wind Engineering AI PortfolioĀ 

  • Maintain visibility across all approved AI initiatives.Ā 

  • Monitor progress against commitments, milestones, deliverables, and success metrics.Ā 

  • Ensure initiative ownersĀ remainĀ aligned to agreed execution plans.Ā 

  • ProactivelyĀ identifyĀ execution risks, delays, and resource constraints.Ā 

  • Escalate issues requiring leadership intervention.Ā 

  • DevelopĀ consistent project health and portfolio status reporting.Ā 

2. Own Portfolio Operations and GovernanceĀ 

  • Maintain the master portfolio of AI initiatives.Ā 

  • Track initiatives through relevant lifecycle stages, including opportunity identification, assessment, business case development, proof of concept, pilot, production deployment, scaling, and sustainment.Ā 

  • Ensure governance requirements are completed atĀ appropriate maturityĀ gates.Ā 

  • Coordinate portfolio reviews.Ā 

  • Support prioritization activities led by the AI Process Transformation Lead.Ā 

  • Maintain portfolio documentation, scorecards, and reporting assets.Ā 

3.Ā EstablishĀ and Operate Portfolio Management SystemsĀ 

  • Build andĀ maintainĀ portfolio dashboards and executive reporting mechanisms.Ā 

  • Create standardized project tracking and performance measurement processes.Ā 

  • Define portfolio health indicators and key performance measures.Ā 

  • Provide leaders with visibility into initiative health, resource capacity, risks, dependencies, value realization progress, andĀ adoptionĀ metrics.Ā 

  • Enable data-driven portfolioĀ resolutionsĀ and transparent leadership reviews.Ā 

4. Lead Cross-Functional Program CoordinationĀ 

  • Coordinate execution across Engineering, Digital, ARC Foundry, and business stakeholders.Ā 

  • Manage dependencies across initiatives and functional teams.Ā 

  • Facilitate alignment when initiatives span multiple engineering domains.Ā 

  • IdentifyĀ and resolveĀ executionĀ bottlenecks.Ā 

  • Support resource planning and workload balancing across the portfolio.Ā 

5. Drive Operational ExcellenceĀ 

  • Apply Lean and continuous improvement principles to AI portfolio operations.Ā 

  • Develop standard work for portfolio management activities.Ā 

  • Improve the efficiency of intake, governance, reporting, and delivery processes.Ā 

  • Reduce unnecessary complexity whileĀ maintainingĀ appropriateĀ guardrails.Ā 

  • BuildĀ repeatable execution frameworks that canĀ scale withĀ portfolio growth.Ā 

  • Drive Kaizen activities focused on execution effectiveness andĀ supervisionĀ visibility.Ā 

6. Translate Strategy into ActionĀ 

  • Support the decomposition of strategicĀ objectivesĀ into executable workstreams.Ā 

  • Help define milestones, deliverables, ownership structures, and success measures.Ā 

  • Partner with initiative owners to create realistic execution plans.Ā 

  • Ensure approved AI initiativesĀ maintainĀ momentum through implementation.Ā 

  • Align portfolio execution activities with broader Wind Engineering transformationĀ objectives.Ā 

Required QualificationsĀ 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, orĀ a relatedĀ technical discipline.Ā 

  • MinimumĀ 5Ā yearsĀ managing projects,Ā programsĀ or operational experience.Ā 

  •  Significant experienceĀ managing complex programs, portfolios, or PMOs within a large, matrixed organization.Ā 

  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams, prioritize deliverables, and drive projects through full lifecycle stages.Ā 

  •  DemonstratedĀ success inĀ facilitatingĀ alignment and influencing cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority.Ā

Preferred QualificationsĀ 

  • Experience supporting AI, software, or digital transformation portfolios within engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or energy sectors.Ā 

  • A demonstratedĀ track recordĀ of improving processes and advancing operational maturity using frameworks like Lean, Six Sigma, Agile, Scrum, or PMP.Ā 

  • Proven ability to develop executive-level reporting and governance mechanisms, paired with excellent writing, presentation, and facilitation skills to influence stakeholders without direct authority.Ā 

  • Experience with transformation management offices, enterprise change programs, and a strong systems-thinking mindset to drive AI adoption and development lifecycles.Ā

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $98,400.00 and $164,000.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
