What impact you’ll make
As a member of the GE Vernova Forrester Operations team, you will be responsible for developing, validating, and maintaining Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) inspection programs used to verify product conformance to engineering drawings, customer specifications, and internal quality standards. This role supports manufacturing and quality operations by ensuring accurate dimensional inspection, troubleshooting measurement issues, and driving continuous improvement in metrology processes.

Job Description

  • Create, edit, and optimize Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programs, using PC-DMIS, for new and existing parts using approved software and measurement equipment using 3D CAD models or 2D technical blueprints.
  • Create and maintain inspection documentation.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), CAD models, and customer specifications to develop accurate inspection routines.
  • Assist in developing inspection plans, control plans, and measurement strategies for complex components.
  • Interpret measurement data and generating detailed quality reports for engineering and production teams.
  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)Ā standards to define how much a part's geometry can vary from its design.
  • Troubleshoot Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) program issues, probe qualification problems, fixture alignment concerns, and measurement discrepancies.
  • Support Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities and continuous improvement initiatives related to metrology and inspection.
  • Support Product Quality Audits.
  • Responsible for calibrating gages and maintaining the gage calibration database.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in manufacturing, metrology, quality, or a related field.Ā 
  • Proficiency with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) programming software such as PC-DMIS or equivalent.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and comparators.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $76,300.00 and $114,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
