POSITION SUMMARY:

The Compliance Data Assurance Advisor supports Compliance analytics and control testing by developing accurate SQL-based populations, performing data analysis and validation, and delivering clear results for business owners, Compliance, Exam Management, and Change Management. This role partners closely with the Analytics and Validation Manager to ensure data integrity, repeatable testing, and timely reporting that supports operational performance, risk monitoring, and remediation oversight.

DESCRIPTION:

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain SQL queries and repeatable population logic to support validation, testing, issue management, exam responses, and operational reporting.
  • Build and document population definitions (inclusion/exclusion criteria, timeframes, data sources, and assumptions) to ensure results are reproducible and auditable.
  • Perform data validation and quality checks on source systems, extracts, and reports, including reconciliations, reasonableness testing, and exception identification.
  • Execute and support control testing and ongoing monitoring, including sample selection, test execution support, result validation, and evidence packaging.
  • Analyze trends, drivers, and outliers to identify operational or compliance risk indicators and to support root cause analysis and remediation tracking.
  • Produce dashboards and management reporting (e.g., Excel, Tableau/Power BI) to communicate findings, performance metrics, and control results to stakeholders.
  • Partner with operations, Compliance, and Technology to investigate data issues, clarify business logic, and implement durable fixes (including query optimization and performance tuning).
  • Clearly communicate analytical findings to varied audiences, including written summaries suitable for leadership updates and exam support.
  • Maintain working knowledge of servicing processes and reporting to ensure analytics and validations align with business intent and policy requirements.
  • Support ad hoc analytical requests related to segmentation, customer behavior, and operational performance improvement.
  • Assist with User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and regression testing for Compliance‑impacting changes and tickets.
  • Ability to effectively and accurately convey information to others.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical or quantitative discipline, or a related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 2-4 years related experience as a data analyst in a financial setting.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge:

  • Strong SQL skills, including building complex queries and optimizing performance.
  • Strong analytical capability, including data quality validation, reconciliation, and exception analysis.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, charts) and experience with data visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI/R/Python).
  • Ability to translate business questions into testable logic and well-defined data populations.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills; able to present findings to operations and senior leadership.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

  • Working on-site at assigned office location.
  • Regular and punctual attendance adhering to schedule established by leadership.
  • Flexibility to work occasional adjusted work schedules, overtime, and evening and/or weekend hours to meet deadlines or as business needs demand.
  • Working in a cubicle hub, maintaining focus on phone calls in a noisy environment within earshot of multiple other conversations.
  • Sedentary work in a stationary position at a cubicle for prolonged periods of time.
  • Constant repetitive motions required for operating a computer, such as typing and managing phone calls.
  • Constantly communicating effectively verbally in English, including accurately exchanging information with others following identification of correct procedures.
