General Scope

The Port Fuel Injection (PFI) Applications Engineer聽is responsible for聽application-level engineering support of fuel injection products, ensuring proper performance, validation, and issue resolution throughout the product lifecycle. This role serves as a technical interface between engineering, testing, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain functions, with strong emphasis on problem solving, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.

Minimum Requirements

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience in application engineering, product support, or validation engineering聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong analytical and critical thinking skills聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to document technical issues clearly and professionally聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred

  • Automotive fuel systems or engine systems experience聽
  • Experience with root cause analysis, corrective actions, and audit response聽
  • Familiarity with production launch and sustaining engineering support聽
  • Experience collaborating with suppliers and manufacturing organizations聽

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Provide application engineering support for Port Fuel Injection products and assigned programs聽
  • Investigate product performance issues, including test failures, flow audits, and field incidents聽
  • Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective action activities for engineering issues聽
  • Author and聽maintain聽formal technical documentation such as incident reports, audit summaries, and engineering updates聽
  • Participate in recurring engineering meetings (EPO, Gemba, program reviews) and communicate status to stakeholders聽
  • Support manufacturing and supply chain with technical input to聽maintain聽shipment readiness and product quality聽
  • Interface with internal labs, quality, and external suppliers as needed to resolve technical issues聽
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product performance and application robustness聽
