Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented TestEngineer I-II based at our Test and Validation Center in Greenville, NC.Â
Level placement is based on experience, technical expertise, and scope of responsibility.Â
What you will do:Â Â
Baseline Responsibilities:Â
Design and develop components and assemblies for industrial vehicles, ensuring they meet performance, durability, and reliability requirements.Â
Document design specifications to support manufacturing.Â
Work with manufacturing teams to optimize products for efficient and cost-effective production.Â
Support production processes on-site during key phases such as prototype, pilot, and initial production runs.Â
Engineer II – Additional Responsibilities: Â
Maintain and update detailed design documentation throughout the project lifecycle.Â
Manage project tasks, ensureaccuracy, and timely completion.Â
Provide guidance and training to team members working on the project.Â

What you will need:Â
Engineer IÂ
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Electrical Engineering is preferred; Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science degrees may also be considered.Â
Experience: 0-2 years of industry experienceÂ
Engineer IIÂ
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required. Electrical Engineering is preferred; Electro-Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science degrees may also be considered.Â
Experience: 2-4 years of industry experienceÂ
Skills, Experience & Abilities      Â
Engineer IÂ
Foundational understanding of test planning, validation methods, and technical documentationÂ
Experience with data acquisition tools, instrumentation, sensors, and test equipmentÂ
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, layouts, and test proceduresÂ
Foundational knowledge of engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause problem solvingÂ
Basic knowledge of FMEA, DOE, and structured test validation principlesÂ
Exposure to vehicle electrical systems, controls, or PLC programmingÂ
Foundational knowledge of CAN communication systems and vehicle network diagnosticsÂ
Understanding of vehicle systems, mechanical components, and system-level interactionsÂ
Ability to collect, analyze, and summarize test data to support engineering decisionsÂ
Safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment in a test environmentÂ
Ability to manage multiple priorities, analyze and present information effectively, and communicate clearly.Â
Collaborative, adaptable, and self-directed with strong problem-solving skills and a positive mindset.Â
Engineer IIÂ
Proficient in test planning, validation methods, and technical documentationÂ

Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, automotive, or vehicle systemsÂ

Familiarity with PLC programming, controls, and CAN communication systemsÂ
Able to perform engineering analysis, troubleshooting, and root cause problem solvingÂ
Capable of compiling, analyzing, and presenting test data in reports and design reviewsÂ
Safe and effective use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipmentÂ
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a test or engineering environmentÂ
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with small teamsÂ
Strong communication skillsÂ
Creative problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn and adaptÂ
