About the role

We are looking for an employee that can perform maintenance as requested by work orders, maintain all company vehicles, and work with Facilities Services Manager as a backup for maintenance task at all Physicians East properties. 


Supervision Received: Reports to Facility Services Manager

 

Supervision Exercised: 

 

Typical Physical Demands Work requires lifting and moving of heavy items, exposure to heights, crawl spaces, electrical wiring, and plumbing. 

 

Typical Working Conditions: Normal office environment with some exposure to adverse weather conditions or before and after normal operating hours. Travel between Physicians East facilities using a company or personal vehicle is required

 

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Facilities Services Manager
  • Completion of work orders requesting assistance as needed
  • Ability to trouble shoot and repair various trades. (Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Flooring, etc.) 
  • Routine inspections of Life Safety Equipment (Emergency and Egress lighting, Elevators, etc.)
  • Operating and maintaining company owned vehicles
  • Assists in the relocation or setup of offices and furniture.
  • Takes after hours call for maintenance and Fire System emergencies
  • Maintain valid North Carolina Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to operate computers, phones, tablets efficiently and effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • All other duties as assigned by superior Technicians or Managers

 

Location & commitments

Full-time role that serves all Physicians East properties, various shifts equaling to 8 hours and may include evenings and some weekends. Overtime may be required to ensure patients are taken care of, tasks are completed, and calls are returned in a timely manner. Weekend work is rare but can occasionally be necessary. Candidate will need to take call on a biweekly basis. 

 

Candidate requirements

Must Live within 20 miles of Physicians East’s main campus on Arlington Blvd.

Valid North Carolina Driver’s License and clean driving record required.

Knowledge in general maintenance in the areas of carpentry, plumbing, painting, HVAC, electrical, flooring, etc 

Comprehend and comply with all HIPPA, OHSA, and other local, state, and federal guidelines pertaining to the operations of medical facilities.
