Job Desciption:

 

This role supports the successful delivery of units by working closely with system engineering, hardware engineering, program management, project engineering, material program managers, and vendor partners. The position centers on assembling and preparing units for release, which includes interpreting engineering documentation, following detailed work instructions, and ensuring all required materials are available. It also involves managing documentation accuracy, supporting First Article activities, and maintaining compliance within the COTS lab. The role contributes to the repair and evaluation of returned units, coordinates movement of hardware through functional testing, and resolves technical issues involving processors, switches, and routers. Working in a fast-paced environment, the position requires balancing schedule demands, material constraints, budget awareness, and documentation requirements while supporting high‑priority efforts such as Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) projects.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinate with system engineering, hardware engineering, program management, project engineering, material program managers, and vendor representatives to ensure on‑time delivery of units.
  • Review released engineering documentation and follow work instructions to assemble units.
  • Order parts from multiple warehouses and resolve material shortages.
  • Understand budget constraints for various units and contracts.
  • Utilize and interpret documentation such as serviceable tags, 350 tags, Quality Notifications (QN), Discrepancy Reports (DR), and Product Analysis Reports (PAR).
  • Assemble and review First Article documentation.
  • Verify accuracy and release of all unit documentation within the COTS lab.
  • Perform repairs on Return and Repair (R&R) and Line Return (LR) units.
  • Coordinate with functional teams to move units through required functional testing.
  • Use general test equipment to test units.
  • Troubleshoot issues involving processors, switches, routers, and related components.
  • Work within strict timelines, particularly when supporting Quick Reaction Capability (QRC) efforts.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to assemble, test, and sell-off COTS units
  • Ability to operate a computer, including the use of Windows and Linux platforms for COTS (Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf) software applications.
  • Knowledge of ITAR requirements/processes.
  • Ability to obtain a US Secret clearance
