Lead Controls Electrical Technician / Journeyman
Full-Time | $27–$33 per hour | Multiple Locations (In-Person)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Lead Controls Electrical Technician or Journeyman to join our team. In this role, you will install, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical control systems with a strong emphasis on safety and technical accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly skilled in reading electrical schematics, working with high‑voltage systems, and using precision diagnostic tools. You will play a key role in ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical control systems in accordance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Use voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other precision instruments to diagnose electrical issues.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Conduct tests and inspections on high‑voltage systems to ensure safety and proper operation.
- Design and install PLC-based control panels and write ladder logic programs.
- Program and troubleshoot control systems and determine machine sequence of operations.
- Install conduit, wiring, and associated components with a high level of craftsmanship.
- Document all maintenance and repair activities for compliance and future reference.
- Follow all safety protocols and work effectively in hands-on manufacturing environments.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lead Controls Electrical Technician, Journeyman, Instrument Technician, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of high‑voltage systems and electrical maintenance practices.
- Proficiency with voltmeters, ohmmeters, and other precision electrical tools.
- Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience designing, programming, and installing PLC-based systems.
- Skilled in conduit installation and wiring.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Trade School or equivalent education preferred.
- Relevant electrical certifications are a plus.
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% (preferred).
