Job Title: Nurse Practitioner

Job Description:

Location: Greenville, SC

Job Type: Part-Time / Independent Contractor (1099)

Compensation: $125,000/year for 4 days/week; additional $10,000–$15,000/year potential

Schedule: Highly flexible (Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays)

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, adaptable Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) consultation and follow-up care for an inpatient rehabilitation facility in Greenville. Working as an independent contractor (1099), you will focus primarily on daily follow-ups to ensure patients are progressing smoothly through their rehabilitation.

This position offers exceptional schedule autonomy, allowing you to set your own working hours within facility access times, with zero overnight call and no complex medical management responsibilities. Licensing stipends are covered by the practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Follow-Up Care: Manage routine follow-up visits for approximately 20 patients per day, addressing pain management, bowel/bladder regimens, and functional therapy blockers to keep rehabilitation on track.

  • Collaboration: Maintain close communication with attending physicians, therapy teams, and internal medicine providers to coordinate holistic patient care.

  • Transitional Care Management (TCM): Participate in optional TCM activities to support smooth patient transitions post-discharge, creating opportunities for additional compensation.

  • Documentation: Efficiently log patient encounters and progress notes in a timely manner.

Note: Initial patient admissions (H&Ps) and complex primary medical issues are managed separately by the lead physician and internal medicine teams.

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Coverage Days: Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

  • Daily Time Commitment: Approximately 4 to 6 hours per day once fully onboarded and efficient with the patient census.

  • Flexibility: Facility badge access is available from ~6:30 AM to 9:00 PM daily. Providers can split their visits across multiple sessions in a day or adjust hours (mornings, evenings, weekends) to fit their personal schedule.

  • Future Growth: Expansion opportunities exist as facility bed capacity increases.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Nurse Practitioner license in the state of South Carolina.

  • National Board Certification (AANP, ANCC, or equivalent).

  • Personality fit, teachability, and a collaborative approach are highly prioritized over years of specialized experience.

  • Ability to work independently as a 1099 contractor.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Expected Income: ~$125,000 annually based on 20 patients/day, 4 days per week, plus potential for an extra $10,000–$15,000 in TCM add-ons.

  • Practice Support: Practice covers licensing/stipend arrangements.

  • Work-Life Balance: Autonomous scheduling with no overnight call.
