JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Support Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and supporting pre-execution, execution support, and post-execution activities for packaging operations across PAI Pharma manufacturing facilities. This position serves as a key liaison between Operations, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Technical Services, Supply Chain, and other support functions to ensure production readiness, documentation accuracy, system compliance, and timely closure of packaging activities.
This position is responsible for the direct supervision, coaching, and development of employees. The role also provides leadership through influence, coordination, communication, and process ownership to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Readiness & Scheduling Support
- Coordinate packaging readiness activities to ensure all required inputs are available prior to scheduled production starts.
- Review production schedules and identify risks, constraints, and opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
- Verify availability of packaging records, labels, materials, tooling, released bulk product, SAP transactions, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with Operations, Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Technical Services to resolve readiness gaps.
Documentation & Compliance Support
- Ensure packaging records are reviewed, routed, and delivered within established cycle times.
- Support accurate completion of SAP, Antares, and other manufacturing system transactions.
- Coordinate correction and resolution of documentation deficiencies identified during review processes.
- Support deviation investigations, CAPAs, and corrective actions as assigned.
- Monitor compliance metrics and identify opportunities to improve documentation accuracy and timeliness.
Operational Support
- Support packaging operations during startup, execution, changeovers, and production transitions.
- Serve as a resource for troubleshooting documentation, transaction, execution-related, and technical system issues, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient resolution.
- Facilitate communication between departments to ensure timely resolution of operational concerns.
- Assist with implementation of new products, process changes, and operational initiatives.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve packaging readiness, documentation flow, reconciliation activities, and production support processes.
- Track and report operational performance metrics.
- Develop and implement process improvements to improve efficiency, compliance, and execution.
- Support creation and revision of SOPs, Work Instructions, Job Aids, and training materials.
- Share lessons learned and best practices across departments.
Leadership & Coordination
- Lead through both direct authority and influence. This position is accountable for building partnerships and influencing individuals across other departments to drive alignment and achieve business goals.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings and action plans.
- Escalate risks and barriers affecting production execution.
- Present updates, metrics, and improvement plans to site leadership.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for packaging readiness and execution support processes.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of cGMP, GDP, and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- Experience with ERP and manufacturing systems such as SAP and Antares.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Science, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred.
- 5 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or regulated manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience supporting manufacturing operations, production planning, quality systems, documentation control, or process improvement preferred.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Lead through both direct authority and influence. This position is accountable for managing direct reports, including coaching, performance management, performance reviews, timecard approval, scheduling, and PTO planning, while also building partnerships and influencing individuals across other departments to drive alignment and achieve business goals.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
