The Rehabilitation Therapy Aide is responsible for assisting the Therapists and Therapists Assistants by providing rehabilitative support to the therapy program and to patients following all regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

This position reports to the Director of Rehabilitation Services and may also be supervised by a Physical/Occupational and/or Speech Therapist.
Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during tripÂ
Assists disabled and/or elderly residents in and out of vehicle and in and out of buildings and doctor’s offices when appropriateÂ
Assists all departments in the delivery and pick-up of other related work items, i.e., x-rays, pharmaceuticals, medical records, mail drop off, etc., while adhering to HIPPA guidelinesÂ
Cleans and services vehicle Â
Reports all vehicle repairs, and/or any unsafe or hazardous situations immediately to supervisorÂ
Remains flexible and available for special occasions and special schedulesÂ
Uses tact and understanding with facility personnel, residents, family members, and outside community contactsÂ
