Description

Position Summary:
The Automotive Shop Foreman plays a critical leadership role in ensuring efficient shop operations, high-quality repairs, and a motivated technical team. This position requires strong communication skills, advanced problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to organize workflow in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who leads by example, supports technician development, and collaborates effectively with both technicians and service advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Motivate, encourage, and foster high morale within the technician team.
     
  • Utilize strong critical-thinking skills to troubleshoot issues, strategize solutions, and plan daily shop operations.
     
  • Demonstrate thorough reading comprehension to interpret service publications and clearly explain information to the team.
     
  • Communicate effectively with technicians and service advisors to ensure smooth workflow and accurate repair processes.
     
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative in daily responsibilities.
     
  • Coach, support, and direct technicians to reach performance and quality expectations.
     
  • Receive constructive feedback professionally and apply it to improve performance.
     
  • Provide constructive criticism in a respectful, growth-oriented manner.
     
  • Think quickly and adapt plans or workflows as situations change throughout the day.
     
  • Organize and manage dispatching, technician assignments, and workload distribution to maintain efficiency and productivity.
     

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in an automotive repair environment required; leadership experience preferred.
     
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
     
  • Proven ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
     
  • Solid understanding of automotive repair processes and service information systems.
     
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team.
