Job Description: Site Superintendent (Unshakable Builders)

Position Title: Site Superintendent
Department: Construction Operations
Reports To: Senior Project Manager / Senior Leadership
FLSA/Status: (Choose) Employee or Independent Contractor (per your structure)
Work Location: Assigned job sites/New Bern, NC
Schedule: On-site 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday (seasonal adjustments as needed) 

Role Summary

The Site Superintendent is responsible for the daily execution, quality, safety, and coordination of construction activities on assigned job sites. This role is critical to maintaining Unshakable Builders’ standard of excellence, operational efficiency, and superior build quality. 

Key Responsibilities

Site Execution & Daily Operations

  • Lead daily field operations to keep the project on schedule
  • Coordinate deliveries, staging, access, and jobsite readiness
  • Identify risks early and communicate solutions to the Senior Project Manager

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce OSHA and company safety policies
  • Maintain clean, orderly, secure jobsites
  • Support company drug/alcohol policy procedures when applicable 

Subcontractor Coordination

  • Schedule and manage subcontractors and trade sequencing
  • Ensure subcontractor compliance with site rules, quality, and safety expectations
  • Resolve conflicts/delays and escalate critical blockers immediately

Quality Control

  • Maintain quality control throughout all phases of the build
  • Address deficiencies immediately and communicate status to leadership 

Buildertrend Documentation

  • Maintain daily logs (activities, inspections, issues, delays)
  • Upload milestone photos: foundation, under-slab plumbing, rough-ins, final completion
  • Ensure photos are clearly labeled and uploaded promptly 

Materials & Cost Accountability

  • Log leftover materials in Buildertrend and schedule returns within 48 hours of phase completion
  • Follow the two-step verification process for material purchases as required 

Closeout & Punch List

  • After CO, ensure punch list completion and move-in readiness
  • No project is complete until punch list is resolved to company standards 

Company Asset Protection

  • Maintain company vehicle inspection compliance and weekly cleanliness
  • Protect company tools, materials, equipment, devices, and cards from misuse/theft 

Professional Standards

  • Maintain polished, professional appearance and jobsite conduct
  • Represent the company brand appropriately (including social media expectations) 

Qualifications

  • Proven residential construction site leadership experience (custom homes preferred)
  • Strong scheduling, trade coordination, and quality control capability
  • Comfortable using Buildertrend and mobile documentation/photo uploads
  • Knowledge of OSHA practices and jobsite safety enforcement
  • Valid state license (as required) and clean driving record for company vehicle eligibility 

Performance Expectations (What “Great” Looks Like)

  • Jobsites are safe, clean, secure, and inspection-ready
  • Trade flow is organized and delays are minimized
  • Quality issues are prevented (caught early) — not discovered at final walkthrough
  • Buildertrend documentation is consistent and audit-ready
  • Materials are controlled, tracked, and returned on time
  • Closeouts are tight: punch list complete, home truly move-in ready
