About the Role:
Jackson Hewitt is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tax School Instructor to join our team on location, Troy, Ohio, Anderson, Indina, Indianapolis, Indiana and Richmond, Indiana. ! Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging, structured tax education courses to students of varying experience levels
  • Teach core tax concepts including federal and state income tax preparation, deductions, and credits
  • Facilitate classroom discussions, exercises, and hands-on tax return practice
  • Evaluate student progress through assessments, quizzes, and feedback
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning
  • Stay current on IRS tax laws, regulations, and updates to ensure accurate instruction
  • Collaborate with management to align curriculum with Jackson Hewitt standards and training materials
Requirements:
  • Prior experience in tax preparation, accounting, or a related financial field
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and income tax preparation
  • Previous teaching, training, or instructional experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to break down complex tax concepts into clear, understandable lessons
  • Proficiency with tax software and basic computer applications
  • Patient, motivating, and student-focused demeanor
  • 6 week course, 6 teaching hours per week in office
