About the Role:

The Procurement Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless acquisition of materials and services essential for International Grains & Cereal manufacturing operations within the organization. This position is responsible for supporting the Procurement Analyst and coordinating procurement activities, managing supplier relationships, and maintaining accurate records to support production schedules and cost efficiency. The role requires close collaboration with internal departments such as production, quality assurance, and finance to align procurement strategies with operational needs. The Procurement Coordinator will also monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Ultimately, this role ensures that the manufacturing process is supported by timely and cost-effective procurement, contributing to the overall success and competitiveness of the company.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with procurement or ERP software.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with advanced procurement software systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP platforms.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials to better understand procurement requirements.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM) is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends and implement cost-saving initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate terms, and track order status to ensure timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand material requirements and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
  • Maintain and update procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and purchase documentation.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of procurement strategies to optimize cost and efficiency.
  • Support inventory management by coordinating with warehouse and production teams to prevent stock outs or overstock situations.
