About the Role

The ideal candidate is a sharp, resourceful technician who can effectively troubleshoot and repair equipment in the field without direct oversight. You will represent and uphold the reputation of Network Controls on service calls at schools, hospitals, factories, and commercial sites鈥攖roubleshooting cameras, access control, and network infrastructure, then getting systems back online quickly and correctly.


What You鈥檒l Do

路 Troubleshoot IP cameras (Axis, Hanwha, Avigilon, Ubiquiti, and others): identify PoE issues, VLAN misconfigurations, and failed hardware.

路 Troubleshoot access control systems (Brivo, Paxton, S2, RS2, Avigilon, Genetec, Kaba, Kantech): diagnose power/fuse problems, binding pressure, programming errors, and faulty strikes or maglocks.

路 Work directly with customer IT departments to isolate network and infrastructure issues.

路 Test and repair structured cabling: identify bad terminations, incorrect patch-panel mappings, and use cable testers (LinkRunner or equivalent) to verify runs.

路 When service calls are light, support project teams on larger commercial and new-construction jobs: pulling and terminating CAT6 and fiber, installing access control hardware, drilling pathways, cutting in door strikes, installing maglocks, and hanging cameras inside and outside.

What You Need

路 Ability to think critically in real time, research solutions in the field, and make sound decisions based on equipment limitations and customer needs.

路 Strong working knowledge of at least one major access control platform (Brivo, Paxton, S2, RS2, Avigilon, Genetec, Kaba, or Kantech).

路 Experience with IP cameras and basic networking: PoE, VLANs, IP addressing, and subnetting.

路 Proficient with cable testers and diagnosing physical layer issues.

路 Good written and verbal communication鈥攜ou can explain technical problems to IT staff and non-technical customers clearly.

路 Valid driver鈥檚 license and acceptable driving record.

路 Able to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in commercial environments (schools, hospitals, factories).

路 Previous lift and bucket-truck experience is a plus; we will train and certify the right candidate through our company.
