If you're the kind of person who doesn't mind breaking a sweat, getting your hands dirty, and doing a job the right way every time, this might be the opportunity for you. At Road & Rail Services, we help keep the country moving-literally. As a Railcar Inspector / Prep Technician, you'll be part of a team that prepares railcars for the safe and secure transport of vehicles and materials. Your work will have real-world impact every single day.

This is a physically active, outdoor position based in a high-paced industrial setting. If you've ever worked in construction, landscaping, auto shops, or any job where you're up and moving all day, you'll feel right at home. Our shifts start early, and the work is hands-on. You'll spend your day inspecting railcars for damage, opening and closing end doors, clearing debris with backpack blowers or hand tools, and ensuring the railcars are safe and ready for the next load. You'll also help identify issues that need repair and take responsibility for your assigned tools and equipment.

The environment can be dusty and challenging at times, but safety always comes first. You'll be expected to follow all company, customer, and industry guidelines. If you bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well with others, you'll find opportunities to grow within the company.

To succeed in this role, you'll need a valid driver's license, reliability, and a willingness to work in all weather conditions. You must also be able to bend, lift, stoop, climb, and handle physically demanding tasks throughout your shift.

We offer full benefits, including Medical, Dental, and 401(k), along with paid holidays and vacation time. You'll receive an annual steel toe boot allowance, all required PPE, and the opportunity to build a career in a company that promotes from within.
