The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for inspection, repair and diagnostic services. You will work on computer systems diagnosis, electrical troubleshooting, and mechanical/electrical component replacement. You must have the ability to explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals which may include other associates and customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform difficult repairs and work specified repair orders with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and/or OEM standards
Diagnose and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brake, air conditioning, etc. to specification
Explain mechanical diagnoses and required repairs in a non-technical manner to management and customers
Determine needed repair activity and perform repair
Perform standard part replacement and capable to complete actions by following the action SMP
May be required to lead small groups of other technicians without pay adjustment
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing technology
Inspect and test new vehicles and recording findings so that necessary repairs can be made Work will be performed in a manufacturing facility and can include working on the assembly line
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications/Requirements
Maintain current driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Work assigned schedule which may include multiple shifts, weekends and holidays and work overtime when required
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferably have experience with OEM
Have basic computer knowledge
Be team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
Have working knowledge of shop and diagnostic equipment
